Carers information and useful contacts

At Gosberton Medical Centre, we deeply value the essential role carers play in supporting loved ones. We understand that being a carer can be both rewarding and challenging, and we are committed to supporting you every step of the way.

We are pleased to introduce our Carers Information Pack. This can be collected from Reception. This is designed to provide you with valuable resources, guidance, and support. Inside, you will find information on local and national services, financial assistance, and how to register your carer status with your GP

Registering as a Carer with Your GP

If you look after someone, letting your GP know you're a carer can make a big difference. By registering, you’ll be added to the carers’ register, which helps your GP understand your responsibilities and offer the right support. This might include help managing prescriptions and access to the vaccinations you are entitled to. It’s a simple step that ensures your health and wellbeing are looked after.

You can register with your GP:

Aftercare Support Group

When a caring role comes to an end, it can often be a challenging period of adjustment. Our Aftercare service provides dedicated support for former carers, helping them to adapt and focus on life beyond their caring responsibilities.

The group meets at Baytree Garden Centre on the 3rd Friday of each month, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, offering a supportive environment to share experiences, access guidance, and connect with others who understand.

Carers First Drop-In

If you are currently in a caring role, Carers First provides advice, guidance, and support tailored to your needs. Whether you have questions about services, benefits, or simply want someone to listen, the team can help.

Carers First are available at Baytree Garden Centre on the 4th Friday of each month, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Carers are welcome to drop in and speak to a member of the team for support and information.
